With each new branding and website design, we are so excited to bring each client's vision to life. But when abstract artist Taylor Lee came to us for help with a rebrand and website refresh, we were beyond pumped! We immediately hit it off with Taylor and her creative spirit totally meshed with us. Taylor has so much inspiration and energy that goes into her paintings that she wanted to translate into her new branding and website and we couldn't wait to get started! Here's a little peek into the project:
Taylor draws a lot of inspiration for her own paintings from music which she really wanted to infuse into her branding and website. She specifically sent us a link to Paramore's Hard Times and we ran with the cool bright '90s, LA vibes.
After discussing more of her vision and inspiration for her paintings and how we can infuse that into the branding and website, we focused on the following for Taylor's project:
- Create a new logo with an infusion of '90s vibes while still being clean and modern
- Update her color story to include common colors she uses in her paintings
- Create some fun '90s-inspired patterns to use in her branding and website graphics
- Incorporate some of her original paintings as graphic elements
- Design with a seamless user experience in mind by creating unique CTA buttons and streamlining the navigation
Once we nailed the inspiration board for the new branding, we were ready to hit the ground running on the new logo. We had so many ideas on how to incorporate a '90s vibe that is was a little hard to narrow down our options but here's what we came up with for her initial concepts:
From these concepts, Taylor decided she wanted to just stick her name and she also liked concept #2 best. We made a few adjustments to the 2 E's in her last name and we had the logo finalized (which we are just a little obsessed with)!
Next up was her website redesign! The main goal for the website was to really infuse the new color story, fonts, and patterns we created to give that '90s, LA vibe while really highlighting her artwork. We also knew she'd want to highlight her online shop as well as the fact that she can create commissioned pieces so we made sure to incorporate custom designed buttons to highlight those options throughout the site.
We also created custom headers for each page to infuse some of Taylor's fun personality into the site a little more. Since she is front and center in her business, we thought introducing her and showing her personality was very important... especially since the new branding is SO Taylor and we really wanted to make sure all the pieces to her brand tied into each other perfectly.
Take a look at how we pull it all together to bring Taylor's new brand vision to life:
Can you see why we’re so obsessed with this project??? We have missed those '90s vibes more than we ever thought we would and it was so much fun creating Taylor's branding and website. Not to mention she is an insanely talented artist that we are huge fans of! If you're looking for some happy art for your home, look no further than Taylor Lee!
