Vaida Tamosauskaite | Don't Tell Anyon

Tell us your bold boss story!

In 2010 I left for London with only 300 pounds in my pocket and no clue where I was going to sleep or if I would ever find a job. I worked as a waitress. I cried 70% of my total work experience in London. It was really tough. Either I wasn’t good at all, my colleagues weren’t nice to me, or I was always having serious issues with my relationship at that time. When I finally had enough of this all - I left London and came back home to Lithuania completely broken -- mentally, physically and financially.

From the very first day that I arrived home I put all of my time and energy into learning what I wanted to be, and where I should start. I knew that I wanted to be a graphic designer, since I actually went to London to study that. I then discovered blogs, and learned about the concept of blog design. So I started learning about it all: watched endless amount of tutorials about designing, HTML/CSS coding, read all the articles about blogging. It didn’t take me long to start earning good money from it, so in 2013 I opened my web store called Don't Tell Anyone along with a blog. Everything went well for the first year but then things changed.

I moved to a bigger city, the capital of Lithuania - Vilnius, where I stopped working hard and got involved into partying and summer festivals. I wasted all the money that I had earned on silly things that I don’t remember much of. The day I came back to work - I realized everyone was gone. I had 0 clients, 0 traffic… 0 sales. Now it’s been a year since I’ve been struggling and I working my ass off daily to rebuild the community for my blog, increase the traffic and clientele.

I had been stressing a lot as I had a lot of taxes to pay for the government regarding my business. That led me to have a surgery - which was also huge and terrifying. Now I’m learning to wind off, let things go, find a balance, do daily workouts, and not to give up on my dreams and things that make me happy, even if sometimes it doesn’t seem like it's working at all.

We're all about bold boss moments, tell us about one of yours!

The day when I received a comment and a compliment from one of my favorite blogger and graphic designer about my work, blog, and design style. It meant a lot to me. Or when I got featured on my favorite fashion brand's Instagram! And definitely the day when I finally launched my first ever fitness e-course!

There are definitely many more these kind of moments and they all are priceless!

What advice or words of encouragement do you have for the Bold Boss Tribe?

Believe in yourself no matter what. Usually the first thought or idea that comes to your mind is the best one! Though sometimes we tend to give it up. But don’t! Write it down, maybe not today, but one day you will see it as a genius idea! :) Name your weaknesses and strengths, know them and work on them. Focus on your strengths, do the best you can, but also don’t forget to work on your weaknesses - if not possible, hire or find someone to do the work that you’re weak at! Don’t be afraid, don’t let the fear put you down! And never forget that you don’t need to know everything, and there’s nothing wrong about that!

Bold & Pop : 5 Entrepreneur & Career Resources that are Crushing It

Today we're sharing some of our absolute favorite entrepreneur and career blogs & resources that have made a serious difference for Bold & Pop along the way! We whole-hearted believe that as professionals in the same industry we're strongest when we work and learn together and we have mad support for all of the amazing people who are lucky and driven enough to be creating their own dream jobs!

So let's get to it! Here are 5 of our absolute favorite entrepreneur & career resources that we know you will love as much as we do!

The Nectar Collective

If you are an entrepreneur and aren't following The Nectar Collective yet.. Get to it! It's one of of our absolute favorites! Melyssa's tips and advice are so real and transparent and it's really hard to read her posts and not feel like you're talking to a good friend just giving it to you real. She also has a super awesome Facebook group Blog + Biz BFFs (that you can join if you sign up for this) , Twitter chat, and oh hiii she recently launched some kickass e-courses. Do yourself a favor and check her out! She's had such an impact on Bold & Pop and we know she'll get your inspiration mojo going!

The Everygirl

On top of being totally obsessed with their home tour and home decor section (definitely a guilty pleasure), The Everygirl's Career & Finance section boosts some really awesome articles! Some of our favorites are their career profiles. There's nothing we love more than reading about other ladies seriously kicking some butt! They hit ladies in alllll different industries too so it's really great to branch out and see the different passions of so many successful women. You go ladies!

Elle & Company

Another creative in the field that we really admire is Lauren from Elle & Company. Not only is her design work beautiful, but she's another one who it is killing it in the blog space! Something we really love about her blog is that she is so honest with her readers about the journey of her business and we love to feel like we have been right there with her as she has grown! We are also LOVING the second blog she recently launched called The Collaborative that features posts from other experts in the industry too. Between the two you have a dynamite combination!

By Regina

If you're looking to try new ideas for your business, By Regina has you covered! She's all about helping what she calls "infopreneurs" who are freelancers, coaches, and teachers -- anyone who wants to make a business out of sharing their knowledge. If you've ever thought of offering e-courses, e-books, in-person courses, or anything up that alley she is totally the girl to help you get there!

Career Contessa

And last (but definitely not least) is another one of our favorites Career Contessa. While not specifically targeted just for entrepreneurs, they offer some really great advice on building your career and other life topics that are totally important -- managing your money, life events, and wellness -- all that good stuff! They also include a lot of awesome articles from different women who share their experiences in their careers including the successes, struggles, and changes. It's an all around awesome platform and easy reading.

We hope you enjoyed our choices! Definitely check them out and share in the comments if you have any others you think we'd love!

Bold & Pop : Getting Bloggy With It

Hello lovelies and welcome to our blog! I'm SO excited to kick things off and get this blogging party started! Cue the confetti and bubbly!

So What Exactly Does that Mean?

That means, we're your business' new bffs! We're here to offer extra pairs of hands when you need it the most aka we've got your back! When you're crushing it at sales and just don't have the time to manage all of your retweets and Instagram love, we're your girls. Or when you want to take your dreams to the next level -- oh yeah I'm talking get those pretty little products of yours in the glossy pages of the magazines -- we can help make that happen to! How about when your website just doesn't reflect how you see your business anymore.. well, lucky for you we DO that too! The just of it is, we're another resource for your business when you need some extra support whether it's day-to-day or project based.

So How did we get Started?

You know you hear about those lightbulb moments where people just think of something and know they have to do it? Internet high five if you've had one of those moments too! Bold & Pop was totally one of those! Our co-founders had all met through different phases of our careers and we just had a lightbulb moment of, "Hey guys... we NEED to do this!" And poof! Just like that our collective was born.

We all come from a variety of career backgrounds, but one thing was clear when we created Bold & Pop. We definitely didn't just want to be another corporate cubicle-filled agency that just feels.. well.. bland. We're all colorful and fun ladies and we wanted to make sure that shined through in our branding, hence our name! We really built this collective in hopes of connecting with other entrepreneurs (just like us!) to help make everyones' business dreams come true :) Girl boss party!
