Sometimes what you think you want or envision, doesn’t always quite pan out… which is totally ok! It IS called a design process after all! This branding project took a few twists and turns but ended up RIGHT where our client wanted to be which makes it alllllll worth it!
After chatting with Melissa and receiving her questionnaire, we knew she liked the Bold & Pop branding and wanted something similar. Here’s a peek at how her inspiration board turned out:
We started with 3 logo concepts that were fairly clean and simple with a slightly retro vibe. Take a peek:
After narrowing down the vibe and getting a little more inspiration, we adjusted the initial concepts to reflect the feedback we received.
After the second round of edits, Melissa had a little more time to think things through and decided to make a pivot in the original vibe and wanted to add more of a “rockabilly” style with the possibility of adding a sugar skull. We totally changed up our approach and found new fonts with a slightly western vibe to incorporate into the new design with the sugar skull. Take a peek at where we landed:
After this round, Melissa said this was just what she was looking for! So it may have taken a little longer than normal to get to the final product, but we think it was worth it! We love how the sugar skull has a serious retro vibe (how do we do our hair like that?!) paired with little pops of color to bring it to life!
