Tell us your bold boss story!:

Luna Blu Mar is a sister-owned business operating out of Arlington, VA. We started the company in August 2016 when we had a vision of merging style and substance to create American-Made goods. Luna Blu Mar creates premium, high-quality goods for women, kids, and babies with a great aesthetic and price point. Our core values are woven throughout the brand, and you’ll find our products are a reflection of the things that mean the most to us: faith, family, kindness, and love of country.

We dreamed up the initial idea when Melody’s daughter was born. We searched for a bib that was functional without sacrificing fashion. When we couldn’t find what we were looking for, we decided to make our own. The Luna Blu Mar bib is an extension of your babies clothing, not a boring add-on.

Since then, we have expanded the line to include Tees, Tote Bags, and Bows. Our items have positive messaging that we hope evokes a feeling inside of everyone – to be KIND and share that kindness with the world.

A portion of all profits goes to providing educational opportunities for girls in the United States and around the world, distributed by our educational non-profit, Sowing Seeds of Love.

We're all about bold boss moments, tell us about one of yours!:

We are proud to be a company that gives-back. A portion of all profits goes toward providing educational opportunities to girls in the United States and developing countries. By partnering with our educational non-profit, Sowing Seeds of Love, Luna Blu Mar has provided educational scholarships to over 100 indigenous girls in the Republic of Panama.

In addition to school scholarships and education, Luna Blu Mar is empowering indigenous women and girls by teaching them a trade (sewing). We've had the honor of working with the indigenous women for 6 years through Sowing Seeds of Love's various projects. While living in Panama, Lindsey spent countless hours teaching the women how to sew and their skills have improved tremendously. These women have sewn bibs for orphanages in Panama, and donation trips in Washington DC and Syria. Most recently, the women started to teach young mothers at a local orphanage how to sew.

While our educational scholarships to-date have been in developing countries, we are excited to gift our first scholarship in the United States in December 2018.

We truly believe that the future is female. When you educate and empower a girl, a nation is changed.

What advice or words of encouragement do you have for the Bold Boss Tribe?:

1. Your dreams are valid! If you are passionate about something take baby steps in making it a reality
2. It will be difficult, you will feel discouraged, overwhelmed but going back to your purpose and remember your WHY. Why are you doing what you are doing. When you are motivated by a dream with deep meaning you will persevere and feel recharged
3. Make time for yourself. Disconnect on a weekly basis, make sure you have a day of rest.

If you have a dream, chase after it with all of your being. Most people aren’t living their dreams – and those who have given up on their dreams will try to get you to abandon yours. Yes, there will be road blocks, and bumps, and dead-ends, and detours. Those will happen just because. But your dream is valid, and real, and it’s worth going after.
