Tell us your bold boss story!:
Hey! I'm Caitlyn, a brand and family photographer here to help make life a little bit easier while spreading joy and encouragement with my artistic abilities! I wasn’t always the friendly and outgoing photographer I am today though. There was once a time when I avoided meeting someone new like the plague because of the anxiety it caused me. Yet, as soon as I picked up a camera in college, I knew this is what I was meant to do. Being the owner of a portrait photography business had been my dream for years, but it wasn't until early 2018 that officially started Caitlyn Lunsford Photography. I believe it ended up being the perfect career for me; I can create art, capture beautiful moments, and finally get outside my comfort zone to meet new, wonderful people.
We're all about bold boss moments, tell us about one of yours!:
When I moved to Seattle from San Fransisco in June 2018, I could count the number of people I knew in the area on a single hand. Moving to a new state kind of makes finding clients difficult at first, but I have been determined to meet new people and make it work! I started going to networking groups and other places where I could meet people that I would potentially call my friends. If I told you this didn't make me incredibly uncomfortable, I would be lying, but I knew that if I wanted to cultivate a community in my new home, it was something I was going to have to do!
I believe magic happens outside of your comfort zone. If I didn't start going the networking groups and coffee dates, I wouldn't have realized so many creative entrepreneurs don’t have the time, energy, or experience to take the right photos for their brands. Because I forced myself out of my comfort zone, I adapted and now I get to help both families and small businesses share their stories through images that capture their incredible personalities.
